Change name on card

Hello,

My PayPal debit card expires in December. I want to request a new card, but I want to change my name on the card. I got married in November 2018, but my card still has my old name on it and I cannot change it because a photo ID is required. I have photo ID, but it also has my old name and the local DMV refuses to give me a new one with my married name until the old one expires (after December 2021). They claim it'll just be easier that way. Can I update my name on my card/request a new card with my married name without photo ID? I have my Social Security card with my new name, as well as my marriage certificate. If there's a way to do this, and then upload photo ID after I get a new one from the DMV later on, please let me know. Thanks.

Have you tried calling the customer service number on back of card for assistance?

I have not, only because I was hoping it was something I could do online without needing to call them and deal with being transferred multiple times (which is what happened last time I called the helpline). I guess if calling is my only option, I might as well just wait until I get a new ID next year and get yet another new card/replacement after that happens. I hate calling and dealing with incompetent people who can't help me.
