How Do I Change from Nonprofit Charity?

I'm trying to start myself a tip jar with my artwork, and I thought that since I needed donations, I listed myself as a nonprofit organization, but then I realized I had to choose what kind of product or service I'm representing when really, I'm just trying to make myself a little tip jar to get started making money for myself. How do I fix this?

Hello @XFangHeartX

Welcome to the PayPal Community!

I apologize for the confusion caused when trying to set up a tip jar. You can change your business account type under the Account Settings. This Help Center article guides you to where you can update it for a nonprofit, so if you follow it to the same spot, you can change it back. Sometimes, when you set your account up as a nonprofit, the account is temporarily limited to request more documents. If that happened to you, please follow these steps to upload documents. If you run into a document you do not have, type a letter and explain that you no longer wish to set up the account as a nonprofit, then upload the letter in place of those documents.

When setting up a tip jar, I have a couple of recommendations if you haven't created one yet. We don't specifically have a tip jar feature, but you could create a PayPal button. I suggest looking into the Sell on Social or Buy Now Buttons. You can visit our Buttons Page and the Help Center to learn more about both of these. An alternative to creating a button that you might be interested in is setting up a PayPal.Me page to receive payments. You can learn more here: What is PayPal.Me?

I hope this information helps you update your account and set it up to accept tips!
