Paypal credit payment declined due to insufficient funds

What happens if I made a payment on my due date but had insufficient funds in my bank and it got declined?

Your bank may allow the transfer and you would have an overdraft OR the bank would refuse the payment and paypal would put your account into negative and try again a few days later. If that also failed they may well try any back up card you have linked to your Paypal account.
