PayPal will typically make up to 2 more attempts to draw payment from the account before using your back up credit card if you don't tend to the bank account and add funds to it to cover the payment. The bank may charge overdraft fees.
The bank should notify PayPal of such things but it looks like they (the bank) let it go through, leaving you in the negative but maybe later the bank will notify PayPal and PayPal will notify you if a payment was returned unpaid if you don't add funds to bank to cover it.
There's no documentation of specific provisions I know of otherwise about what happens when a closed bank account is charged with PayPal.
Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂
