buying stuff without link a credit card

hey guys,

I want to buy shoes on stock x .com  which cost 250 dollars. So I sent money to my account paypal from my bank amount 300 dollars.

When I click buy on stockx.com and chose payment method paypal a small winodow from paypal will appear and ask me to link a credit card.

I DON T WANT   why a can't pay if a have 300 dollars on my account paypal ???????

You can use funds in your paypal balance 'as long as' they are in the correct currency and not pending.

BUT for some transactions ie digital / virtual or higher risk AND at 'some point' anyway Paypal will ask you to add a card to act as a back up funding source and to verify your Paypal account.
