Pending payment on Paypal

Hi. A buyer has bought something off me on Ebay, but has paid through an old email address, which isn't linked to paypal. The ebay payment status is showing unpaid, but the Paypal status is saying paid. The payment was made on 5/7 but isn't showing in my paypal account. There is also no details for this transaction in my account activity in Paypal  - Can anyone assist me as to what to do next please? The buyer is saying that the money has not been returned to them either. Many Thanks

If you still have access to the old email address, see if you can link and confirm it back to your PayPal account to claim the payment. Seems this old email address was previously linked to a PayPal account before if the status of the payment is completed on the buyer's end.

Only unregistered (no previous linkage) PayPal email addresses show Pending or Unclaimed on the buyer's end where they can cancel payment or wait the 30 days before they get refunded automatically.

After this ordeal, please update the PayPal email address in your eBay account as well as on the current listings and check it on the listing form when you make new listings.

Hi,

Check you the eBay listing you had for that item to view what email was the payment sent to in order for you to add that email to your PayPal account. Sometimes we make the mistake of misspelling our own email or placing an old email that is not currently on our PayPal account.

Add the old email, confirm the email and then go to your "Activity" to view the payment, then click claim payment 🙂
