3D Secure Code

I am trying to create an account for an online merchant, which I want to pay my monthly fee with my PayPal Debit Card. The company I am trying to create an account with requires a 3D Secure Code. I have gone to the Mastercard website, but they only list the PayPal Credit Card, not the PayPal Debit Card. When I enter my debit card number, I get an error message stating that it is an invalid card number.

How can I register my PayPal Debit Card and obtain a 3D Secure Code. MANY online merchants now require this code and I have not been able to use my PayPal Debit Card for any transactions that require it.

this three digit code can be found on the back of your debit card, usually it follows the four numbers that comprise the

last four digits of your actual card number on the front, in the white strip that you would have signed your name.. i hope this helps.

the problem here is the card itself does not follow the credit card sceme for mastercard, Paypal could change this so that their debit cards and credit cards are both seen the same way but they choose not to (Bank of America Debit Cards are seen as Credit Cards and can be used with Verified by Visa), so unless Paypal chooses to enter their debit cards into the "MasterCard SecureCode" pool the cards will eventually become useless

I have been trying to get Paypal to fix this for a while now with no results

oh I agree debit absolutely should be usable for this, and by the way for the one that said that 3 digit csv number is the 3D secure code, is it not, I dont know where people are getting the idea that this number is secure, its on the darn card, its not in any way secure,

3D secure is "MasterCard SecureCode" and "Verified by Visa" not that 3 digit number in the card, Paypal should be supporting "MasterCard  SecureCode" on all of its cards
