Hello, I got a call from a "creditor" saying my husband owed $6K and that they were collecting on behalf of Synchrony Bank for PayPal. They knew a lot about my husband but seemed confused about some details. I asked why her phone number was coming through as a UK number identified as Naturally Ahimsa LTD. She said she was Midland Bank which I know is a UK bank. I called them and they asked for his social security number which I did not provide. Then they were pushing for my info and I hung up. I thought maybe someone had run up debt on his account but the UK number made it seem shady. Anyone else had this experience?

Hi @PachamamaJeanne,
Thank you for being cautious! It was wise not to provide any personal information to an unknown party. If your husband would like to check for debt with PayPal credit, he can contact the number at the bottom of this FAQ. He will have to provide identity information at that number, but having originated the call to the official number from our website, that would be something he could safely do.
I hope this helps!
Olivia
