PayPal Credit/Cash Advance payment question.

So apparently this was a rookie mistake. I recently made a purchase at a small sporting goods store using PayPal credit. I used the general goods function and also used PayPal credit. Long story short I forgot my wallet and with no Apple Pay option they allowed me to pay with PayPal. It came through as a “Cash Advance”. I also have a balance in my “special payment financing” through PP credit and the balance is pretty much interest free until September. How do I pay directly toward the recent “cash advance” purchase to avoid paying the ridiculous interest rate attached to it? When I go to make a payment it doesn’t give me an option and if it’s like the “special financing purchases” it just pays them in date-purchased order. Again rookie here trying to avoid paying the cash advance interest fee without paying of my entire PayPal credit balance.

Please refer to how payments are allocated here:

https://www.paypal.com/us/webapps/mpp/ppcterms

You can also contact customer service and ask for the payment to be allocated to the purchase you want but due to Covid-19, the response will take longer:

I paid with the “PayPal insured” general goods function. From what I had read I assumed “cash advanced” was okay for friends and family but must be that business probably didn’t have a business account? It sucks reading that because I have a balance I’m instantly charged interest on it. I assumed it would still be in a standard credit card and have that month to pay on it without taking it up the tail pipe.
