sms messages

 I have had 2 sms messages from paypal saying someone is trying to access my account...but no such warnings or messages when i log into my account on my pc...are these messages fake?...there is a link to click in the sms, but it doesn't seem right to me and i have been hacked in the past so very wary

There's a good chance the messages are bogus or spoofs as PayPal normally does not contact it's account owners using that method.  (Very good idea not to try any links in the messages.)
