Why does paypal need access to my phone calls to cash a check?

The android paypal app asks to make and manage phone calls in order to cash a check. What is the purpose of this?

To use Cash a Check on the app, location services and push notifications have to be enabled:

Are you sure it is asking to "make and manage phone calls"? Perhaps it is using another verbiage?

I've captured images of what I'm talking about below. The app wouldn't let me capture the screenshot on my phone, so I had to take a picture with a camera. It's honestly not a big deal, but I just can't think of a reason why paypal would need to 'make and manage phone calls'.
