Hi Need some help, I never really use PayPal. Someone wants to come buy my car tomorrow and pay £3,000 balance transfer and use his PayPal account for an additional £850. What risk is involved? Eg if he opens a case after he has driven away and PayPal hold or try take the money out my account? Any advise much appreciated

Ps he has added that he will send as a gift...

Friend and family payment is cash gift to the recipient,he gets no protection if something went wrong with the car,so why would anyone do that.

I would accept cash, cashier check or wiretransfer, like K said ,there is no Paypal protection for autos.

I have heard of a case where A Canadian buyer will drive across and met with the seller in bank parking lot, then went inside the bank to complete the transaction.

There is NO paypal seller protection for motor vehicles.

I would accept bank transfer or cash on collection.

Also if you accept friends / family then you lose any seller protection anyway as he may be able to do a chargeback via his card issuer.
