If its a spoof, DO NOT USE ANY LINK.

Firstly if the email/ text addressed you as ''Dear Member'' / ''Customer'' / ''Client'' OR your ''email address'' then that confirms its a spoof as paypal would address you by your full name eg Dear John Smith.

Secondly if there was a link OR attachment in that email link to ''cancel'' any transaction or ''confirm'' any details then again it would be a spoof.

If there was a problem with your account Paypal would not ask you to click on an unsafe link in an email or by downloading an attachment, they would direct you to log in normally and go to the resolution or the message centre for more information.

I just received this message and was filling out all my details AGAIN ...wasn't until I was asked for my long card number and then my account number that the alarm bells started ringing..is this a scam text...probably but any extra info. appreciated

the information given is handy to know as these are the kind of things no1 tells you about. in this case it was a text message from "PPALERTS" and this is the message "Your account is currently under review. Please complete the security form to avoid restrictions. pay-pal.online-uk.org.uk thanks for the handy information...much appreciated malki

If u did this on your phone i would consider some anti virus protection or wipe your phone if you have clicked a link they have access to your phone and it personal info they sometimes have key loggers and they monitor everything you type so if you buy anything online or personal banking they have your details
