i bought something on ebay and im getting texted "{PayPal} Did you pay $123 (not the amount i paid, just an example) AUD to _____ on 19 january 2020< Reply 1 if yes or 2 if no. {reply needed]". I replied 1 and it messaged the same thing again so i replied 1 again but nothing happened so i searched the number and it is showing up as a unsafe number and now i am wondering if i have messaged a number i shouldn't have.

We often send security messages to make sure that payments that the system detects as unsafe have been authorised by you. If you authorised the payment and you can see it in your PayPal Account Summary, you can rest assured that this is a common practice.
