Strange request for $10k, then cancelled next day???

Yesterday I received request for $10,000 with the note being 

"I am a big fan and i would like to go to your next show with my friends"

This morning i received another email that the request for money has been cancelled

Needless to say i am a regular person and not a rock star or anything like that. 

Is this a standard scam attempt or maybe a legit error by the person that sent it

That definitely sounds strange! No worries, a money request doesn't mean you'll be charged, so you can ignore the request and shouldn't have any issues. I hope the issue is resolved! 🙂
