Refundable Deposit

Hello there all, could you  tell me how i make a refundable deposit to someone.

I bought a Diesel Inlet pipe on ebay, it clearly stated in his advert that i must make a deposit of 50 pounds to him before he sends item, this is so he is sure I will return old item when i have removed it from car, only trouble is he did not make use of ebay in proper way, i do not know if there is any way of doing this on eBay but he should have demanaded more money from me in the first place.

I really need this pipe but i do not want to be ripped off, now i do not think that he would rip me off but there is a chance as ebay says the email he gave me to make payment to was not the one registered with themselves.

What do i do and how do i make payment ?

Hi @rockman,

Thank you for your question. If a deposit is to be sent, please make sure that it is sent as a goods and services payment and it's clearly spelled out what the payment is for and that the seller has agreed to refund the deposit when the old item is sent to them. If there's ever a reason for dispute, the seller might be able to win with the tracking for the item that you received.

I hope this helps!
