Refund

I paid for a “card break”, the merchant advised me that was closed, did I want credit or refund, I took credit and two days later I sent another payment to include the first in another break, merchant agreed, I have screenshots, apparently the buissness has changed hands and I have no money no card break, the “new” merchant says that they passed on to the old Yet I am still out of pocket for nothing, Anyone any ideas help, not happy.
