Refund of PayPal fee on cancelled eBay order

A customer on eBay bought an item by mistake and requested a refund. I followed the eBay procedure and duly cancelled to order and the payment of £40. Apparently the fvf will be refunded. However, PayPal have not refunded the fee they charged on the transaction and I am now out of pocket, for something that was not even my error.

How can I get my commission refunded?

Sadly you can't as paypal no longer return the fee you were charged when your buyer paid as part of any refund you issue.

i was advised by Paypal that a customer cancellation you  should get the fee back  looking into it further now
