Hi can anyone help. I have requested a payment for the sale of something. I received an email from Service.Paypal From Czech Republic I can’t put it in this text) saying it had been paid but will be held until proof of post. It’s a new thing by PayPal? Is this genuine? It is not the usual email address and I am a bit sceptical. Thanks

SOUNDS LIKE THE BELOW SCAM READ IT AND SEE............

SCAM.

They may buy on Ebay but they use an anonymous or hijacked Ebay account and DO NOT have a Paypal account so they can't use Ebay checkout. They encourage you to accept a 'direct' Paypal payment and may ask you to send the item internationally.
No funds or activity of the transaction shows in your Paypal account and any emails 'may' go into your junk or spam folders.

You will get/got a "fake" email that looks as though it is from paypal.....it isn't because they don't actually have a Paypal account and have no intention of paying you.
It will say the buyer has paid ...you won't have been paid.
They will tell you that the payment is released when you provide paypal with a tracking/shipping number......this won't happen.

Paypal NEVER tell you to send an item before the payment is showing in your paypal account.
Paypal do not tell you to send trackable, they advise it for selling protection but it is not compulsory.
Delete any emails and ignore the scammers.

Advice is voluntary.
Kudos / Solution appreciated.

Thanks for your reply. So you think it’s a scam. If I could post the emails I got from service.payal I would but the site won’t let me. Basically it is saying they have received payment from the guy I requested it from and it will be held in their “escrow” system I think it was till proof of sending then it would be released.

You received a payment from Xxx xxxxxx. The money is pending and deposited in PayPal escrow account. The payment will not reflect in your account balance until we receive the proof of shipment from you for confirmation and, once shipment is confirmed, the money will be in your available balance within few minutes. This will help us continue to be a safer way to buy and sell. Does any of this ring any bells of being correct or not? Thanks in advance.

Sorry forgot to say this is not through eBay. This is something else I have sold and have requested a payment from someone for the purchase. It has not come through as spam in my email. Looks genuine enough but was mostly worried about email address as it ain’t the normal one I would expect.
