Is this another type of SCAM?

Hi everyone, hope all is well 🙂. I would like to know if anyone knows if this is another type of scam or is it a legitimate message. I just received a message saying: Your PayPal account is blocked. Sign in to your account if you don't sign in before the day is done you will be permanently blocked! There was a link which I followed and started to fill in, then I suddenly thought, hang on a minute this could be dodgy so I logged in directly in my usual way instead of using the link in the message. Has anyone got any info on this please? Thanks & wishing all the best 😁

If its a spoof, NEVER USE ANY LINK.

Firstly if the email/ text addressed you as ''Dear Member'' / ''Customer'' / ''Client'' OR your ''email address'' then that confirms its a spoof as paypal would address you by your full name eg Dear John Smith.

Secondly if there was a link OR attachment in that email link to ''cancel'' any transaction or ''confirm'' any details then again it would be a spoof.

If there was a problem with your account Paypal would not ask you to click on an unsafe link in an email or by downloading an attachment, they would direct you to log in normally and go to the resolution or the message centre for more information.
