How to see fees and exchange rate on a money transfer to other country

Sent money to Canada to a relative. The transaction required a conversion from USD to CDN.

None of the numbers, align and I have no fee breakdown???

Requested 1,000USD be sent. Was charged 945.83USD a lower USD amount than requested.

And the amount received on the other end was 1166.44CDN.

I have NO breakdown of fees and/or exchange rate used, so cannot calculate accurately the cost using this method to sending funds vs others.

Where and How can I get this info.
