Can anyone help me here?

I've been selling a lot of stuff on ebay lately.  I never really took notice of everyone's fees before, and I've confirmed with ebay that they are still just billing me the 10% at the end of every month.  However, when I see the money in my PayPal account, about 9-10% has been taken out.  I've read that PayPal only takes 2.9-3% from in country purchases, what is happening?!

Here are 2 transactions for example:

Item #1 sold for $535.18 - Deposit in my PayPal account $494.18

Item # 2 sold for $202.99 - Deposit in my PayPal account $196.80

Both of these are 9-10%!

Hi @ebyguy1141

PayPal doesn't charge a fee to open a PayPal account nor to download the PayPal mobile app. We charge fees for the following circumstances:

  1. When you receive money from a purchase
  2. When you receive payments from outside your country or region. There is a fee when you send a payment to someone in another country or if you receive a payment from someone in another country. The PayPal User Agreement has specific information.
  3. When you send personal payments using a debit or credit card. For more information on the fees to send money as a personal payment using a debit or credit card, please visit our fees page.
  4. When you send money from your PayPal account to your bank account using an eligible debit or prepaid card. Please visit our fees page for more information. There is no cost if you transfer money from your PayPal account directly to your bank account. If you prefer to receive a check, a small fee will be charged.

It's free to receive money from friends or family in the U.S. when they send the money using their bank account. It’s also free if they can use their balance or combination of the balance and bank account.

Please learn more about our fees here.

I hope I could answer your question.
