Hi How do I report a fake email? I have recently posted items on Gumtree, when a guy contacted me through WhatsApp and asked to pay through PayPal. I’ve now received an email off “PayPal” asking me to buy £75 gift cards, scratch off the strip and email a picture of this back to them🙄 I’d like to report this, if there’s an email account I can send the information to?
Not much point, this scam has been ongoing for years.
As no part of the transaction would be done using paypal then there is little paypal can do about it except warn you or confirm its a spoof / fake email.
You would never receive any funds in your paypal balance as normally all they want is that scratchcard amount and they will tell you that you have to send them the number before your non existent funds are released.
Advice is voluntary. Kudos / Solution appreciated.
