Ebay have emailed me saying my purchase was a possible fraud. why can't I tell PayPal this immidiately?

Trying to avert a fruad I have come to PayPal to report that Ebay have just emailed me about a possible fraud and had "cancelled" my purchase. PayPal has already sent the money.

I'm assuming I have PayPal protection here but its infuriating that I can't warn PayPal in the Hope's they could quickly undo this (bought 24 hours ago and received the email from Ebay an hour ago).

So I have to wait several weeks now to apply for Ebay's buyer protection?

They don't 'quickly' undo anything, you authorised a purchase that was immediately completed and the funds would be processing from your funding source.

Those funds can't do a u-turn and paypal can't stop a processing payment.

You don't wait 'weeks' for buyer protection.

You can open a dispute after 7 days post-payment.

Then you can immediately escalate to a claim if you wish to.

Once its a claim paypal make a decision within 48 hours of the 10 day deadline given to sellers to respond.

If your transaction met buyer protection then if the seller didn't refund then paypal would do so.

However be glad you paid with paypal as it sounds as if Ebay were not 'covering' you with their buyer protection policy.
