Confused about PayPal mail box

I have paid someone a small amount of money, and they have told me that they have sent an unlock code to my PayPal mail box.  My email address that PayPal has linked to my account does not show any email with said codes.  I have found the PayPal Message Center, but it does not have any messages in it.  I have checked, as requested, my Junk and Spam folders at my linked email address, with no luck.

Am I missing a PayPal Mail Box feature somewhere, or am I simply out of luck (and $10)?

I think you got scammed. People can't communicate with you through the PayPal message center, that is only for PayPal communications with you. "PayPal mail box" is likely your seller's way of referring to your PayPal email address.

Did you send the money as goods and services? If so, then you can dispute it as Item Not Received.

Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂

It's odd.  The unlock code I'm expecting is for a watch face on my Garmin watch.  When I don't have the unlock code, some features of the watch face are not available, but the basic design is still there - so there's every reason for the vendor to send my code, he's already done the work!

I know not to send gift cards, I'm not shipping goods to a "friends's" address, I'm not using Western Union.  Just thought I was confused about a PayPal feature.

I'll poke him gently in the ribs a bit more and see if we can't connect better.

Thanks for the quick response.
