Why echecks all of a sudden instead of instant payment?

My bank account has been set up for years and I have always did instant payment from my account. The last two times I bought something it wants to use a credit card. The only other option is echeck. What changed?

I hope someone can answer because I have the same question. It is impossible to contact a real person at PayPal and the automated answer system is useless.

I know what you mean.  Fortunately, I found out the PayPal Customer Service number through another vendor:  (402) 935-2050

Hello everyone!

I know that it can be difficult when you are unable to choose the funding type you are accustomed to using.  From my experience, this type of limit to the choices is caused by a couple of different things.

1) PayPal security is limiting certain funding sources for security purposes.  This is not something anyone has the ability to change or override.  Just try it again at a later date and time.

And

2) The credit card on the account is expiring within 30 days or has already expired.  Without an active credit card on an account, the instant transfer nor the credit card option is available.

I hope this gives everyone a better insight into their situations and gets a resolution to their payment concerns.

Have a great day!

echeck is still the only "bank" option for payment as of today, too. if its security related as someone mentioned earlier, then:

1) it's been going on for awhile now. that being the case, someone should say something about it.

2) it would be nice to know that there are security issues before getting to the payment selection option(s). would it hurt to put a splash page on the "send money" or payment screens?

I don't want to accept e-Checks because of the time delay and fees to me as Seller. Customer service sent me to my preferences so that I may indicate that I don't accept e-Checks but I can't figure out how to do it. Has anyone tried?
