Previously confirmed addresses now showing as unconfirmed

Hello all,

There have been quite a few topics on this issue recently so hopefully I can clear up any questions you may have on it.

Over the last week or two we have noticed an issue on customers accounts in which their previously confirmed address is now showing as unconfirmed. This is an issue we are aware of and have our engineers working to fix as soon as possible. As you can imagine, the PayPal system is very complex so we do not have a timeframe for this.

In the mean time I am sure some of you are worried about Seller Protection and how this issue impacts your coverage. In the past there was a need for a Seller to ship to a confirmed address in the Transaction Details to be covered under our Seller Protection Policy. This is now no longer needed. Shipping to a confirmed address is no longer a requirement under our Seller Protection Policy, you can post to buyer addresses in any of the 190 countries where PayPal is accepted and be covered.

Yeah this is a pain in the you know what. It's August and I just bought a pair of shoes and if the seller wont ship it to me I'll be very angry. What's the point of being a good buyer/seller with 100% positive feedback if this kind of thing is happening? Very annoying, hope my transaction goes through.

As a seller, I have rejected sales to unconfirmed addresses.

Well, I will join the "still unconfirmed" club!  I just looked at my account and found my address is still unconfirmed.  I was also looking up my fees for various items I sold.  THOSE are all there!  I don't see any glitches when it comes to taking their share for fees!  Ebay doesn't seem to have that problem either.

I am getting soooo tired of this.  Somewhere there is a software writer who goofed when the program was written.  The goof wasn't picked up but continued to effect more and more sellers.  Now, they probably don't have the foggiest idea of how to fix it. 

I really don't believe PayPal has even tried.  I am so annoyed.

   I have my own merchant's account.  I think your days as an intermediary for getting payments is numbered!  Within  the next few weeks I will probably stop PayPal.

I have had the same address for 12 years, but my address says unconfirmed. I am afraid this makes me look like a bad risk.

Is there any way to fix this???

Why is it that when I look at Details from recent and past transactions that my address shows up Unconfirmed?

But when I go to my Profile settings and look at my Street Address it says Home Confirmed?

So is my address confirmed or not???

I haven't recently added any new addresses to my account and I don't live in a country where address confirmation isn't available.

Any ideas as to why this is happening?

Mine does the same thing. Seems my address is confirmed as an Ebay seller but my same address shows mine as unconfirmed as a buyer.

My address is now showing up as unconfirmed!  What do I need to do to get it back to confirmed?

I'm no help...I came onto the forum to ask the exact same question!! What the heck is the deal? Since I only buy, I worry the sellers will see an unconfirmed address and be leary...then again, if the bank transaction is confirmed and they get their money, maybe they don't care!

Same here, I have been a seller and buyer for ten years and always had a confirmed address. Now all of a sudden I'm un-confirmed! E-mailing Pay-Pal is no help, they didn't even answer. I have lived at the same address for the past ten years and now they don't know me, what gives? They sure know me when I pay my fees!
