Hello all,
There have been quite a few topics on this issue recently so hopefully I can clear up any questions you may have on it.
Over the last week or two we have noticed an issue on customers accounts in which their previously confirmed address is now showing as unconfirmed. This is an issue we are aware of and have our engineers working to fix as soon as possible. As you can imagine, the PayPal system is very complex so we do not have a timeframe for this.
In the mean time I am sure some of you are worried about Seller Protection and how this issue impacts your coverage. In the past there was a need for a Seller to ship to a confirmed address in the Transaction Details to be covered under our Seller Protection Policy. This is now no longer needed. Shipping to a confirmed address is no longer a requirement under our Seller Protection Policy, you can post to buyer addresses in any of the 190 countries where PayPal is accepted and be covered.
For more information on our Seller Protection Policy you can click here

Alas...it doesn't seem like even Paypal has the answers...so now we are forced to only buy from folks who don't mind shipping to 'unconfirmed addresses' EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN CONFIRMED FOR YEARS BEFORE....I think I am done with Paypal too

Well folks, I just made my first purchase since updating my profile, and after being unconfirmed for months, I am officially now back in the ranks of the CONFIRMED. I'll explain again what I did...
I noticed that my PayPal profile had been filled-up with many copies of my shipping address, though only one of them showed as CONFIRMED, and that all my recent transaction logs showed a correct address but indicated that it was UNCONFIRMED. So I deleted all addresses but the one that showed CONFIRMED, and then I got out my credit card statement (for the one card that is attached to my PayPal account) and made changes to that CONFIRMED profile address to make it exactly like my credit card statement address. The problem with mine was that my statement had a 9-digit zip code where my profile only had a 5-digit zip code. My credit card statement also had my address in all caps, so I edited my profile to also have it in all caps. That was about two weeks ago, and today I made a PayPal purchase and the transaction log showed my address as being CONFIRMED.
So it seems I fixed my problem myself with only the help of community members here. Hopefully this will help some of you fix your problems as well. If not... You'll have to call customer service I guess. I'm just happy that I didn't need to.
Good luck.

So.....I have done exactly the same and only have confirmed addresses - I did this some time ago. My transactions in Paypal - thro' eBay or otherwise - all show an unconfirmed postal address.
Over the last few days, I've been emailing Paypal and, to be fair, they've been answering very quickly. According to them, their records show that all my transactions in January - eBay or otherwise - are showing a CONFIRMED postal address.
I've emailed all of the transactions involved - which is ALL of them - and they have no immediate answer, so they're coming back to me.
There's a glitch in the system somewhere...............

This helps me. I just made a bunch of little purchases and only now noticed that my receipts all say "Unconfirmed Address" even though it shows "Confirmed" under the Credit/Debit Cards tab. Like you, my bank had my address as all caps so hopefully this will fix my issue. I guess I'll have to buy something again to be sure!

Thanks Smarks for filling us in on your efforts:
"Well folks, I just made my first purchase since updating my profile, and after being unconfirmed for months, I am officially now back in the ranks of the CONFIRMED. I'll explain again what I did."..
There are a few more folks who are pursuing a solution, to the extent of sending PayPal copies of their "non-confirmed" transactions, when Customer Service tells them that they are confirmed. These and others to follow will work to make the necessary changes by PalPal to correct their programming error.
The real solution will occur when PayPal uses the same criteria in both the Profile and Transactions, to show which ones are confrimed or not confirmed, allowing those having problems work on correcting the data in their Profile, which will correct it in their transactions. I for one, having experienced it, can easily overlook a "minor" difference between a shipping address and funding address. I am not sure that "Caps" alone would do it but why not make them EXACTLY the same.

This was requested by Paypal in their last email to me - I will let you know what they come back with.

Same problem here. I don't know why the forum system labels this topic as solved because it certainly wasn't. However, I just called Paypal customer service and received this information: The rep said that in viewing the particular purchase I am concerned about, he saw my address as confirmed and OK. I replied that he may see it as confirmed, but I see it as unconfirmed and the important question is how does the seller see it? He said the seller is seeing it as confirmed, but the rep would send the seller an email to OK the address and inform the seller that he is covered under the seller protection. He also mentioned something about receiving a lot of calls concerning this address thing. So if you have this same issue, please call customer service. The more calls they receive, the sooner they will want to quit wasting their time on phone calls and fix the problem.
