Is my real name displayed with a business account when someone pays me?

If someone pays me, will they be able to see my real name? I am trying to keep my business private and have no interest in letting anyone see my real name, address, etc. since I have had bad experiences with other payment services where I get customers who call me randomly to just say 'hi'... I want to avoid this, so what exactly is shown when someone pays me under a business account?

Great question Felix2011

With business accounts you can elect to supply a business name to your PayPal account. When sending or receiving payments the opposite party with be provided with your business name, instead of your personal name.

I hope this helps Robot Happy

This has been a concern of mine as well. A while back I tried to get answers by phone and email, got nowhere.

I have a blog, and some of my opinions might be called controversial in my hometown. On the other hand, someone might like what I write and it'd be wonderful if they could show appreciation with a donation.

But if it means they can, for a nickel, get my name, no thanks.  Therefore I don't use Paypal and would very much like to.

Can someone here tell me, plainly: do I need a business account to use a business (blog) name on a Paypal account, and if so, do I need to get a tax id for my little blog, just to have a donate button?
