Paypal not using paypal balance if there's not enough funds there

Hi there!

So here's the problem.

Let's say I have 100$ in my balance, and I am trying to pay a 102$ invoice.

Paypal will DITCH the balance completely and charge 100$ from my credit card.

It will only use balance if the charge is under 100$.

Now, I remember it used to use up the balance and then charge the rest up from the credit card, which is in my eyes normal behavior. But it doesn't do that anymore, what happened? Is that a policy change?

I remember my paypal used to do it.... Not anymore.

I already changed the balance as the default paying thingy etc... So it's not that.

Any suggestions?

Could it be a specific policy to Paypal Israel or something?

Hi WileCoyote23,

Thank you for contacting the PayPal Community Forum, and welcome as a new member!

The policy has not changed, and if you have a positive PayPal balance, this will be used to complete the payment. This is providing the merchant accepts balance payments to purchase their product/service. A merchant can choose which funding methods they will accept. If the merchant chooses card payments only, the full amount will be charged to the card registered on your PayPal account.
