I am selling a laptop for a pretty hefty sum of money, I was told I got a confirmation email from the sender, I did, but it wants me to put in tracking info for the package before it will show up. Its not even showing up as pending on my transactions list. I'm just wondering if this could be fake
Welcome to the Community! While PayPal may hold funds after a sale, the transaction itself will still be visible in your PayPal account. Here is a great Help Center article about Why Your Payment can be Held and another article on How to Release Your Held Payment. If you do not see the payment in your activity, or if you did not receive a confirmation email from PayPal about the payment, it is possible that the payment is not legitimate.
