Negative balance on my account

My roommate sent me our rent through PayPal and I then transferred it to my bank and delivered it to our landlord. Because of suspicious charges on his account he was blocked or banned from PayPal and my account has now gone into a negative balance for the amount of my rent. I am wondering what will happen if I do not pay the balance. Will they try and take from my actual bank account? Or will I just be blocked from PayPal? I am trying to pay it back slowly, but wasn’t sure if there was a limited amount of time I had before they started pulling from my bank account. Please help!

Paypal can't help themselves to funds from your bank account or card without you authorising a payment.

They will put your account into negative and then email you to pay them back.

Not sure how long they give you to pay it back before passing it on to a debt collection agency BUT why not contact them and arrange a payment plan?
