Security Check is using the wrong number, can't change it!

The security check is trying to use an old telephone number.

Sure, if I could GET INTO MY ACCOUNT I could change the number, but they won't let me in because, well, the security check phone number is wrong.

How the hell do I fix this????????     It's like locking a key in the safe and you need that key to get into the safe!

NOPE.
I've been there.  When I click to call it asks me to log in first.

And I cannot do that.

So....    Still searching for an answer here.

Did you find a solution? Having the same problem here. It's the worst security feature ever.

Hi, Matt

I had the exact same problem. PayPal was using an old work number and all of a sudden it started asking me for a secondary verification - with a number that I had no access to. Just like you, I could not lot in to change it for the same reason. I had been using PayPal without a problem before tonight. I remembered that I had activated my VPN, so it did not recognize my location (VPN choses a server anywhere). In any case, I turned off my VPN and Voila! everything worked. The first thing I did was log into paypal and update my account settings. I hope this was the same with everyone here.
