I have been having trouble logging in on my iphone X for ages. I hve tried clearing ,my safari and google and the app before rebooting the phone. Sometimes it will then work for a while but then reverts to hanging. Notice when theres an ios upgrade it again is ok for a bit, but then reverts. I can access on my pc with no problem.
