Paypal ebay refund

Hello All
got a request for a refund for an ebay item i sold in Jan a few weeks ago, i disputed it as the buyer involved had left positive feedback and had had the item. got an email yesterday saying that clients credit card had ruled in buyers favour! i got in touch with the buyer and he said he'd not requested any refund! he seemed genuine as well, gave me his phone number etc and said if he got the refund he'd give it me back..
Got in touch with payapal via phone and they were no help. I'm not sure where i stand when it comes to paying the money back? i have zero credit in my account but obviously i have a card linked to the account. any ideas what i can do?
