I sold an expensive item (over $5,000) over PayPal. The buyer claimed the item was fake (it absolutely wasn’t, had original paperwork and all), and opened a dispute. PayPal sided with me on the dispute. Low and behold, the buyer now opens a dispute saying the charge was unauthorized. Luckily I required a signature for the package, and he signed for it in his name. I’ve heard horror stories of sellers getting scammed this way. I provided the tracking number with proof of signature. Should I be covered here? I would be gutted if he got to keep the goods and my money.
