email verification not working

Just helped my wife creating her first PayPal account. She cannot receive any payments as she needs to verify her email address. Well, we tried verifying her email address a thousand times from desktop browser to mobile app, and she does receive the verification email. She clicks the link, she enters her PayPal password. And she logs into her account. And the email is still not verified. The heck is going on?

You haven't added your country to your profile (so we can see when we hover over your username) or said in your post which country you are in so unfortunately we can't advise.
Paypal varies a great deal country to country so you need to tell us where you are on this worldwide community forum.
Advice is voluntary.
