What is shared when I request/receive money from someone? Can I "hide" personal information?

I'm going to sell one item online. I have never used PayPal for this purpose and I don't know what information will be shown. Is there a way to hide personal information to keep me safe?

Hello @thundercracker, Welcome to the Community and thanks for posting,
Receiving money with PayPal is easy. All you need is a PayPal account with a confirmed email address. Your email address is the only thing somebody needs to send you money. Once the money is sent to you, it will show your email address and name only to the buyer. Your financial details will never be shown nor your home address to anyone who is purchasing an item from you.
As soon as the payment has been credited to your PayPal account, we will notify you by email. You may then withdraw the funds to your bank account straight away or keep the money in your PayPal account to use for future payments.
I hope this helps,
- Sean
