2-step verification through Google Authenticator app doesn't work anymore. I've tried reinstalling it and re-enabling 2-step verification, but whenever I enter the code shown on the app, PayPal says it's incorrect. What should I do? Has anyone else faced this problem?

No, that's not what happened. I CAN log in using a text with the code as an alternative way, but no authenticator apps work with PayPal. And I don't want to use the text because I've read that it's possible to hack it. I'd prefer using authenticator apps. But they don't work! I've tried several.
