When I created this account, I had a cell phone number which has changed in the meantime. I am trying to login to the account. I do have the password and the email address, all correct. But they insist in sending a code to the phone number! There is no way around this, and to ask for assistance I need to login! But won't let me login without that code sent to a phone number that does not exist anymore. This is so ridiculous and frustrating. I have wasted my entire morning dealing with this situation, and at the moment I am ready to give up on this and go create a Venmo account. However, I do not like to keep this account open, with my financial information, when I can't even login to it. This actually creates a very serious and dangerous security issue. Knowing how phone numbers are recycled, what if my old phone number was given to someone else and they try to create a Paypal account and are told that the number already has an account?? Apparently, having the phone number will give them access to my PayPal account. This is crazy and absolutely wrong. Paypal should have no right to keep my account hostage preventing me from logging in or closing the account.
This is truly outrageous! Oh and I can't get anyone to answer the phone either. And all other contacts with customer support require to login. This is completely crazy!
