Problem after adding bank account info

Hi all,

So I added my bank account to my PayPal account in order to verify it, recieved the £0.01 payment and added the code to complete the verification. The thing I noticed is that, £1.00 had magically gone missing from my bank account after I recieved the £0.01... is this paypal doing this?

I understand that you're contacting us in relation to a $1 charge on your card.

It sounds to me like this is a temporary authorisation charge. When you add or update your card information, we make a temporary $1 charge to your card. It's a regular fraud prevention method, to ensure that your card is valid. It's a common method used by banks to check if a card is active.

This charge may take up to 30 days to be reversed, depending on your card issuer but you will see it showing back on your card statement.
