Account limited, is an old passport ok for ID?

My account's limited due to me putting a lot of money in there, so I need to provide ID to get the account back to normal but  I don't drive or have a valid passport. My passport ran out in 1994 when I was in my 20s but can I still use that as ID along with a bank statement?

Hi SAnne1, and welcome to the PayPal community.

If we have asked to you provide proof of ID, we would need a copy of your passport or driving licence. These would have to be up-to-date. Regarding your bank statement, please ensure its a statement issued within the past 3 months.

I hope this helps,

Donna

Thanks for the reply.

So there's nothing I can use instead of photo ID? If not, would a photo ID card be ok? I'd get one of those but I don't want to fork out for a passport or driving licence which I wouldn't use.

Thanks,

Hi again SAnne1.

If you don't have a driving license or any other type of valid photo identity at the moment, you can provide us with a copy of your birth certificate in order to verify your identity as an alternative.

Can you please try this and let us know how it goes when you receive an update?

David.

Kirbycharlton -  I'm waiting for my sister to scan it for me as I don't have one myself so I'll let you know as soon as I find out. Hopefully by tomorrow.
