Me too.  Isn't this crazy???

What idiot didn't test this page - and what idiots aren't reading these notes & noticing that you can't use the service because of some tiny error on the input page??  Wow, is this ridiculous.

If you find a solution - please do post it.

Yeah, I've been shocked by the joke too. After not selling for a few years I am back and found everything has gone **bleep**y in favor of the buyers. I sold one thing and no funds were held. I sold another thing an hour later and they held ALL the funds for 21 days, including what they buyer gave me for shipping. I had to pay out of pocket for shipping and couldn't even use the PayPal labels because I couldn't transfer money from the bank in time to send out the package within the 3 days I had promised. Why is this? I have never done anything wrong as a seller on eBay and previous good performance should count, no matter how long ago it was, because I am the same person I always was.

I am working on a store myself and am no longer considering eBay after hearing what everyone else is going through.

The Ebay/Paypal policy of payment holds is criminal!!  Definitely doesn't seem legal.  First of all Ebay says it's Paypal, Paypal says it's Ebay the bottom line is: EBAY OWNS PAYPAL....THEY ARE THE SAME COMPANY!!!  (they try to dance around that question but when I pressured point blank for an answer, the rep had to admit that Ebay does in fact own Paypal)  So, either they're too stupid to figure out how to communicate with themselves (that's of course not it, they just don't WANT to make things clear and easy) or they just enjoy bouncing customers back and forth hoping they will give up.  Of course, the more angry I got, the less likely I was to give up.  I have 100% positive feedback, I had 20 positives as a seller but because they were more than 12 months ago I was informed that MY money would be held for 21 days or until I had 10 new positive detailed evaluations.  Not just good feedback, customers have to make sure to fill out the detailed evaluation part.  Whether or not a buyer leaves feedback is completely out of the seller's control.  Ebay suggests that you harass your customer's by contacting them and bugging them to leave the feedback.  Then, when I finally had the 10 required evaluations (remember, I had 20 that were from over a year ago...EBay just wants to pretend that I've become untrustworthy in the last 12 months....I guess because I haven't been busy making money for them.)  Now, I was told this was the ONLY reason my money was being held.  When I contacted them because they hadn't released the hold I was informed that oh, now it's because the sales were cameras and cameras are a "high risk" category.  Ebay/Pal makes sure to have the appearance of protecting the buyer while not caring at all about the sellers who are making money for them.  They will blatantly refuse to help or even show any logic about your questions....you just get canned answers that pass the buck and don't really answer or help.  If they randomly hold two hundred dollars from 10,000 customers for 3 weeks and are able to make 1/2% on that they would make $10,000 (I'm just speculating on quantities....the point is it adds up...they were holding $450 of mine from about 8 separate transactions....even the ones that were not cameras and were only 99cent sales)!  A CLASSIC CASE OF GREED!!!  Certainly makes one want to put their efforts elsewhere....I've never had to work so hard just to get what should be easy.  Selling on Ebay doesn't seem to be worth the headaches.  Finally, Ebay makes buyers and sellers leave feedback, strive for positive feedback, and stick to certain standards or suffer penalties.  Why can't we leave feedback for how Ebay handled every transaction and see and ongoing percentage of how Ebay is doing???  They don't want us to evaluate them!  Everyone start asking that!

I totally agree with your sentiments!  I went round and round with all the pricks at PayPal and E-Bay this week myself!  Customer Service is really a joke.  I did get my revenge though, I kept them on the phone for 8 hours straight giving them all the grief I could muster......and there was a whole lot mustered!  I even got hold of their legal counsel in California and had a long discussion with her.  She was very polite and listened for an extremely long time.  Her information is as follows:

1-402-935-5145 (Melody Fry, PayPal Legal Relations / Legal Support Specialist)

I would certainly advise everyone to contact her directly and let her know how unhappy you are with PayPal.  If I can avoid it, I'll never deal with them again!

I love it! Did you really keep them on the phone for 8 hours?  I am impressed that you got through to their legal counsel--one question though was she an attorney or as her title implies a specialist which could very well mean just a fancy name for someone to take these calls and knows the basics. Either way I shall be giving Ms. Fry a call myself.  I am basically feeling defeated tonight as over on the other board HORRIBLE IDEA there is so much dissension, several posters (maybe from PayPal) are becoming complete know it alls and I am concerned that many are just going to give in to eBay/Paypal.  So for tonight I am not going to even try to respond.

Absolutely, I was home for the day and after speaking with one agent for 45 minutes or so and I would then hang up and immediately call back in and get another agent on the line and go thru the same issues, point by point.  They may have held my money for a few days but I definitely got my money's worth of their time.  I think they got the short end of the stick in the amount of wages they ended up paying to address my concerns.  I have never done anything like that before; however, I was furious at how they treat their customers.  They don't realize that without the sellers, there would be no demand for buyers.  The sellers pay the listing fees to E-Bay and then we pay PayPal to receive our payments.  They treat their sellers like we are all low-life, dishonest, human beings that only crawled out from under a rock today!!  Customer Service was an absolute joke!!!  I have nothing good to say about PayPal now!

LOVETHEBEACH2, DID YOU GET A E-MAIL ADDRESS FOR MELODY FRY?

I didn't get an email address for her but I was able to get the following email addresses:

Avoid using PayPal's automated email submission center -- that email goes straight to New Delhi, India where you will get a prompt reply back that has nothing to do with what you asked in the first place. For faster results, email the following departments (where people with decision making authority can help you):

The President of PayPal is Scott Thompson, however this program won't allow me to type in his email address directly, it keeps telling me it is not allowed.  So you will need to use his last name at PayPal(dot)com.

The same is true for the Complaints guy, Michael Moldenburg.  You will need to use his last name at PayPal(dot)com.

There is a website entitled **bleep**-paypal.com where I got most of this information.

The word they have bleeped out is is wercs spelled backwards.  You can figure it out!  In other words the website is wercs-paypal.com.

I copy pasted that number and will send to all my ebay friends, thank you so much, I finally got a phone numner to paypal as every time I clicked on contact (by phone) I received an Internal error message?? but after the fact that my International buyer was able to opena dn close a non receipt on me, when in the matter of 3 days,

offered 11th pd and she paid on the 12th filed a non receipt 13th (on Sat)  refunded her money the 15th on Monday. She can still leave me negative feedback, PLEASE SOMEONE TELL ME HOW SHE CAN GET BY WITH THIS??

Does anyone have any input how she was able to do this, when I did not even have time to send it?? I would hv had to send it on Sat a.m. and the post office is so crazy busy here on Saturdays..I would not have gotten there on time!

She bombarded me with emails saying I had redflagged her because I sent her an email saying her account was not verified, I told her I made a mistake and meant to send it to a United States buyer NOT her as I know we are pretty much SOS with International buyers not wanting to confirm paypal because they dont want them to have their bank info??

another story all in its own, any truth to that I dont know, all I do know is that this is becoming such a hassle, I am waiting for the next bif Class action to be filed on them....

After Paypal froze my account for no reason. I submitted all documents that they wanted me to send to them. Afterward they sent an email saying that my account was closed and required to wait for 180 days (6 months) to receive my balance in PayPal account. I am kinda lucky that I only have about 10 bucks in that account. When I called them they put me on hold for 20 minutes. I asked why they closed my account since I have all the documents that they wanted to see. And she said that PayPal is no longer able to provide you  with the payment processing because we are unable to protect your security like most Banks do. She suggested me to use Propay, Paymate or Internet Merchant Accounts instead. I was not sure why she said that. I saw sellers on eBay that sold things with more bigger transactions than me. Around $600 per transaction. Which meant that just sounded like an excused to me. Now I am not able to use PayPal to accept payments anymore. Anyone know why? Because they are racist? Don't they want the %3.9 or %2.9 + $0.30 out of $1000?
