It sounds like they want a Letterhead from FINISHLINE stating this item is counterfeit as proof.
If this is the case just call their customer service and ask for this.
Our Footlocker stores/customer service do this for their customers on the rare occasion this happens.
How do you know the item is counterfeit? What kind of item is it?
Sadly this does happen.
A customer will buy say a pair of Jordans. Take them home and replace the shoes in the box with a pair of counterfeit jordans. Then the next day they return them to the store for a full refund.
The store employee not knowing what to look for will accept them. Then they get sold to another customer like you that realizes they are counterfeit.
Footlocker, Champs, Lady Footlocker, Kids Footlocker and Footaction stores in New York and few other large cities are not allowed to accept any returns or exchanges on Jordan shoes and a few other brands due to counterfeiting.
