Hello and thanks for reading. I bid on an ebay item (laptop) and won it. The laptop went for $320 from a seller who has a perfect rating. I was certain that it was legit and had checked the service tag number against several sites that list serial #s of stolen laptops. 11 months later a notice from Computrace (lojack) indicated that the laptop was stolen in 2007 and Computrace locked the laptop in an unusable state. How do I start a dispute? I am sure that there is still some buyer protection that applies to stolen items. I am sure that my CC co. would do a chargeback to Paypal but want to try Paypal first. He might be a good seller but he di commit a crime by selling stolen goods.

I am dealing with the same situation with a cell phone that I purchased and when I tried to activate it, it came back as stolen. I am also trying to figure out how to get my money back through PayPal.
Good Luck.

Do you have to return it, after they destroyed it?
How much would you sell it to me for if you still have it?
I recycle and rebuild broken computers
