Hi

I am using ebay and paypal for first time. I have sold an item on ebay, got email from pay pal saying that payment is recieved but will be shown in my account when i give shipment tracking number, funds are deducted from buyers account and will be credited to mine after i give tracking number. On 'my ebay' payment recieved is '0' and on pay pal account payment status is 'sent = The invoice was sent to the recipient and is pending payment'. I am not sure should i ship the item and i will recieve payment or not? Help me please

Thanx

I adise you not to ship the item. I currently have a similar and even worse problem. I already shipped the item and still cannot receive the payment Paypal is holding. This seems to be an organised fraudulent website. I am still running behide over £300 !!!

Hi guys,

This is a scam and you should not post the item if you are asked to provide a shipment tracking number before the funds are released. Even if the funds were being held by PayPal, you would see the payment in your PayPal balance.

This is a common scam where customers are receiving emails (not sent by PayPal) asking you to send the item to an address and supply a tracking number before the funds will be released to your PayPal balance. You should forward any emails that you have received from PayPal to us at spoof@paypal.com. You should then delete the emails from your email inbox and stop communicating with this person.

I hope this helps,

David.

What happens if I have already shipped it? I know it was a stupid thing to do but I honestly believed it was from Paypal because it is always said to be save.

If you have recieved an email asking for shipping details before funds are released, then as above poster says its a scam, and unlucky for you there's not a lot you can do about it. If its still at your local sorting office you might be allowed to stop it being sent, but it's very doubtful they will allow you.
