I sold a $200 item, shipped same day, and then today I wake up to a payment being held? What is this?

I'm 99% sure the buyer is not a scammer.

It says paypal is investigating it so am I supposed to upload or do something? Not really clear on what I'm supposed to show them. It's not really asking for anything in the resolution center but the email I was sent it was.

In most cases, it's simply a "random" transaction security check.  If nothing else, if does delay receiving the funds for a day or so. PayPal does this type of thing all the time, it's not personal nor did you do anything unusual.

Kind of getting nervous now? 

I messaged the buyer and told him to keep me updated and we exchanged about 10 messages while the item was in transit. He joined ebay 3 days ago.  He told me he had no problems on his end.

It arrived and he hasn't responded in 2 days.

His address was confirmed and I had delivery confirmation. 

Am I freaking out over nothing?

I am afraid that we can only provide general information here and I would advise you to contact our customer service team if you want to have an specific answer to your  question. There can be several holds and I would advise you to check if the money is placed on a hold is the money on your pending balance. If the money is on your pending balance the received payment is on hold and you only need to wait until the item is delivered.  If the payment that you have received is placed on hold it could be that we need information from you. I would advise to go to the Resolution center and see if there is any information we are asking. If we do please provide that information to us so that we can review the hold. 

But to get a clear answer it would be best to contact our customer service team :).

Update for anyone who has the same problem and finds this thread. I finally got paid 10 days after the case was opened, i  uploaded a receipt and tracking number. buyer was not a scammer
