Payment on hold after payee reported payment as unauthorised

Can anyone help? This is complicated. I set up an e bay and pay pal account with my former lodger. I had access to both accounts. I even set the passwords and this was all with his consent. Goods of mine totalling £800 were sold via e bay. As new sellerswe had to wait for funds to clear. When they did he transferred £800 to my pay pal account. He then disappeared from my house. He did this in 15 minutes while I walked to the local shop. He cleared his room and took some of my property too. He still has my house keys and some of my property.

Once he left he then reported the payments to me as unauthorised.

I have contacted the police and have a crime reference number as I have been robbed by a conman.

I have responded to the resolution centre with this information but have had no response.

What more can I do and how and when will I know what decision paypal makes and on what basis have they made their decision.

Help please

Hi there Lorettemackie,

This sounds like a very complitated issue to be honest. Firstly, you have done the right thing by advising your local police on what is happening here. Another thing is that if this person has made the payment themselves from their computer, we should not accept their unauthorised access dispute as the payments were sent by them.

I am unable to see your PayPal account so I can't advise you exactly what is currently happening with the case. If you would like more information on this, you should try contacting customer services directly and we can assist you further with this.

I hope this helps,

David.
