Payment holds policy is preposterous! and dumb.... and SUPID

So basically I sell an item and paypal has the right to take the money from me for up to 21 days? That's absurd.

Not only does it take the item money but it takes the shipping money too! How does paypal expect me to pay for shipping if they took the money for it? It's my money in the first place.

• You have a Buyer dissatisfaction percentage of 5% or greater
• You have an average Detailed Seller Rating (DSR) of less than 4.5
• You have received fewer than 20 Detailed Seller Ratings in the last 12 months
• You have a high rate of customer disputes
• You’re selling in a high risk category or industry such as, tickets, travel, gift certificates, computers, consumer electronics or mobile phones

Your funds will be released within 24 hours from when one of the following occurs:

• The buyer leaves you positive feedback
• 21 days pass without a dispute, claim, chargeback, or reversal being filed on the transaction
• You provide a tracking number which shows that the item has been delivered over 3 days ago

You need 100 feedback AS A SELLER NOT JUST POS FEEDBACK.


Why your payments are held.


• You have been selling on eBay for less than 90 days
• You have an eBay feedback score fewer than 100 as a seller and have not yet established a record of good performance
• You have received fewer than 20 Detatiled Seller Ratings on eBay in the last 12 months or your eBay seller performance is below standard
• You have a high rate of customer disputes or a low eBay feedback percentage
• You have been a PayPal member for less than 6 months and have limited selling activity
• You have a sudden change in selling activities (e.g. suddenly selling expensive items, selling large numbers of items, etc.)
• You happen to be selling in a high risk category such as tickets, travel, gift vouchers, computers, electronics, mobile phones, etc.
Depending on the circumstances, paypal may set aside payments for a single transaction or for all payments to sellers who meet the criteria above.

My item has been dispatched and received by the customer,but still my money has not been made available to me.is this paypals money, I was under the delusion that it was my item my money.just because paypal is greedy and want to generate more money from interest on my money,is an absolute joke willl be contacting my local citizens advice centre.becase this for me is a criminal offence and is acting outside the common law.THIS IS THEFT

If your buyer has left feedback then your payment is normally released within 48 hours.

If tracked then tracking has to show as delivered + 3 days.

If you have met one of those criteria then if payment not released give paypal an email via contact us bottom of screen > email them the transaction i.d. and they will release the payment.

Not illegal as you agreed to this when you signed up for paypal.

But feel free to go to citizens advice will give them a laugh.

You Know how eBay should solve this. I say eBay should get into agreement with other Payment Processors and Phase paypal out 1000%. Its rediculas how you Limit peoples money after the seller does their part. Why ask for all of the verification information about the seller if you still wont trust them. The Buyer has my item while I dont even have the payment clear in my account. Its still being held by Paypal. I want the cash not saying "the money is there but as Policy we have to wait XX amout of days". Its stupid. I have a business to run and I should not have to wait any time to get paid when I do my part. And then while you do that, you are slow at releasing the funds. Takes up to 48 Hours, I wait weeks after the person receives the item just to get the payment released. Bottom line is: If eBay buyers and Sellers had more choices than to use standard paypal, they would 100% drop paypal. But then again, eBay is part of paypal so I guess they are part of the Problem Also.

I agree 110%, I recently sold a heavy item shipping costs were £28 which came from my expense due to the "payment hold",

In way's it may be considered good but it seems only Paypal thinks so. I think it's a retard method and as selling things online is differcult anough and stressful this process only makes thing's worse. How can one justify holding someone else's earnt money, More to the point 3day's after delivery? NO should be instant after delivery comfired, Some ebay member's get what they wanted and can't be bothered to leave feedback so businesses and small seller's wait 21 days because of that fact

Hold the money, once delivered INSTANT release or Feedback recived INSTANT release but not this 3day's 72/48hour bull that's just made to stress people out more
