Hi,
I just brought an item but the seller had the wrong email address setup (.co.uk instead of .com). The incorrect address is not registered with paypal.
I cancelled the payment. on my account overview screen if I put the cursor over where it says CANCELLED ( underlined with dotted blue line) a pop up message says "The payment was cancelled and the money returned to your bank", which is nice.
But if I click on "details" next to where it says cancelled to see the transaction details and look at the log it says there is a temporary hold placed on it ( a popup says "Paypal has put a temporary hold while we`re reviewing it.We will contact you shortly with further information")
So, who has my money. Me or paypal?
Paul

When you pay for an item it is never instant > what happens is that paypal pay the seller for you and then start the process of transfering your funds from your funding source eg bank account.
When you cancelled that payment then that payment can't do a u-turn > it has to process through to paypal then back to your funding source eg bank account and that takes up to a week.
So no paypal does not have your money yet so that is why it says temp hold > cus they are waiting for it to get to them so they can process it back to you again.
Advice is voluntary.
Kudos / Solution appreciated.
